No Binding. Condition: Collectible-Fine. Text in French. Original black-and-white photo postcard. No date, circa 1910s-1930. 5 1/2" x 3 1/2." Title printed at the bottom of the image. "C. M. La Havre" printed in lower-right corner on image. Imprint of E. Le Deley (monogram of "ELD") in lower-left corner of image. Postcard is unused. Postcard is virtually pristine and intact except for slight surface wear on front and slight age toning on back. A Fine copy. This postcard shows a pier on a bay in Le Havre, France. A few docked boats are shown immediately to the right. E. Le Deley (ELD) was a French publishing firm based in Paris that was founded by Ernest Louise Desire Le Deley (1859-1917) in the 1890s. ELD specialized in the production of black-and-white heliotype postcards. Le Deley's two sons took over the business after he passed away. The company continued to make postcards until it went out of business in 1930.

Morocco. Condition: Very Good. 50 Heliotypes By Le Deley (illustrator). Bright red morocco leather, all edges of pages gilt, marbled endpapers. 50 full page heliotypes, each approximately 9" x 6", mostly street scenes, almost all illustrations with horses (even the buses are horse-drawn) rather than automobiles. Tissue guards for each plate have lengthy descriptions in French, German, and English. A strongly bound, attractive copy. very slight rubbing along some edges, with elaborate gilt on cover complete and bright. (Note: Illlustration of Eiffel Tower, indicated in Contents, is inadvertantly replaced with a second illustration of Sainte-Etienne.].
