At the beginning of the Civil War, the south did possess a seemingly adequate amount of cannons but many were obsolete or of the wrong caliber. To continue the fight, the south needed an adequate supply of cannon from more than the two foundries in the south, Tredegar Iron Works and Bellona Foundry. There were also smaller firms that converted to wartime production and even some government foundries later in the war. This book covers these sources in three parts an has an appendix with tables of cannon produced and where. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
