Sheet Music
Sheet Music. Condition: Very Good-. The Cotton Club Parade was a different musical revue each year at the famed Cotton Club. While the shows may have had similarities there were usually different stars and different numbers. This sheet music for the song "Truckin" comes from 1935. The "Parade" that year featured Nina Mae McKinney, Miller and Mantan along with the Claude Hopkins Orchestra. "Truckkin'" became a popular dance at the club and frequent "Truckin" contests were held. This music has only light wear, but the covers were separated at one time. They have been professionally reattached and stabilized with archival tape. This is a wonderful artefact of one of the great showcases for African-American acts -- though African-Americans could not be in the audience -- Whites Only. ; Stylized Images on Front; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 6 with covers pages; Ephemera fair.
