Hardcover. Condition: Good Only. First Edition Thus. Anyone looking for a first edition of this title? Forget it - it doesn't exist! All copies of this book state new edition on the title page, failing to mention that in a previous incarnation this book was called "The Two Voyages" [1881]. This is just one of the many new facts I've uncovered in researching a thorough and accurate bibliography of WHG Kingston, which I aim to publish in a couple of years (God willing!). Please contact me if you'd like to put your name down for a copy or if you have any interesting or unusual Kingston material. This copy is a GRC in pictorial cloth with numerous inserted plates, undated of course but 1900s. Rear board stained and faded but quite sound and clean internally.

Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Good. First Edition. True first edition of this posthumously published novel (Kingston died in 1880) and not - as the truly wretched entry on Kingston in CBEL would have us believe - a retitling of Peter the Whaler. The first edition comprised 2,000 copies. Publisher's decorative cloth with uncredited illustrations, all edges gilt.Neat repairs to minor wear at spine, using matching cloth. A bit grubby and with rubbing to the edges of boards. Good and sound.
