Quarto, softcover, a rare 4 page pamphlet with Muir's full page photo on front, at back are: photo with Roosevelt , view of Yosemite, Range of Light and Muir's sketch of King's Canyon. This is a publication by the Tulare County Historical Society, 1971, Number 88. Muir wrote many letters to the San Francisco Bulletin in the 1870's and 1880's, later revised them for magazine articles, then for books. This letter was written in November 1875. Here he describes coming out of the mountains into civilization as he describes the farmers, the water ditch and budding agriculture in Tulare county. Book.
