No Binding. Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Original black-and-white photo postcard. Correspondence datelined March 15, 1958 in Dijbouti, French Somaliland. 5 1/2" x 3 1/2." Title printed at the bottom of the image. Postcard is used. Postcard is clean and intact overall but has some discoloration and dampstaining which is mostly limited to the back. A Very Good copy. This postcard shows a group portrait of three Bedouin men in Aden, Yemen. Publisher's information printed on back: "Copyright Photo Dick Ketchian - Aden." Title also printed on back. A blue, thirty-five-cent Ethiopie "Tesissat-Abai" [Blue Nile Falls] stamp and a green, five-cent Ethiopie "Mecan, Pres Achanguie" stamp are tipped in on the back. Part of the green stamp is folded onto the front. There is handwriting in black pen on the back addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Martin Schwager in Berkeley, California. "Prue" [?] writes to them, "What a conglomerate mess of people there are in this part of the world, Bantus, H[. partially obscured], Whites, Muslims, Sikhs and sheiks. Am taking the train from here to Addis Ababa tonight. Dave [?] had a wonderful trip with Bob & Vera. We drove thru much of Tanzanyika, Kenya &then on to Italian Somaliland. They are driving to Addis from Mogadishu & we will meet again for a few days' sight seeing and then I fly home. Expect to be there by April 1st.".
