From these note he published "Birds of the Atlanta, Georgia, Area", one of the first annotated bird checklists for the state, and was co-author of the first formal checklist for Georgia birds, published in 1945. The Georgia Ornithological Society established an award in h is name in 1975. ; includes a Life List of North American Birds, with locations noted for each bird ; with detailed bibliography and index ; FINE.
