Soft cover. Condition: Very Good-. John Butler; (illustrator). First Paperback Printing. (x) 145 pp. Lightly rubbed on the corners with a flat uncreased spine; small scuff mark on the front cover and a small ink mark and some wear along the lower edge of the text block; no interior markings. Cover art by John Butler. Hilary Byrd threw a wild party to celebrate his Poet Laureateship. The cast numbered every shade of human eccentricity, from a fuddled old duke to a dope-smoking butler. There were polite dwarfs, mincing gays, bloated poets, hungry nymphomaniacs, a vodka-sodden Nobel prizewinner; there were Harry Bartatt, the Yorkshire sculptor, and fretful Eric Wetley, dressed entirely in rubber. This was originally written in 1941 and in it, Thomas and Davenport lampooned many of their most distinguished contemporaries, T. S. Eliot, W. H. Auden, Augustus John, Henry Moore et al. But at the time, book would have been considered libel. Over thirty years later, it was possible to publish the book without getting sued. Book.

Softbound. Condition: Very Good. Oblong octavo, glossy paper covers, plastic spiral spine, 28 pp., b/w and color illustrations In these new works, Paris has introduced elements which appear to pull away from the surface, held in place presumably with mere push pins, and giving the impression that at any moment the entire configuration of the pieces might change. By Constructing these works with layers of elements - frames within frames folding away from and toward the picture plane simultaneously - the calligraphy becomes a landscape face devoid of chronological progression and cause and effect relationships. These overlays in one instant are the image and in the next instant the vehicle.

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. For fifty years, John Fitzgibbon didn't tell anyone about the abuse he had suffered at the hands of notorious priest and paedophile, Father John Day, in Mildura. Over a two-year period during primary school, John was one of Day's favourites, pulled out of class to visit Day in the presbytery. The Catholic Church knew about Day. Victoria Police knew about Day. Both institutions protected him, and it is believed the number of his young victims totals in the hundreds. For fifty years, John kept silent about the abuse and the trauma it caused him, trauma that echoed throughout his adult life. He didn't tell his family. He didn't tell friends. Now he speaks.
