Seller: My Dead Aunt's Books, Hyattsville, MD, U.S.A.
Condition: Fair. "Superfine Edition". Title on spine and on front board: "Young People's Pilgrim's Progress." "Superfine Edition." 548 p., clean and unmarked anywhere--not even the name of a former owner; ochre and white floral end papers clean and unmarked; but gutters are cracked and front matter is loose, though not detached from firm text block. Frontis. engraving of John Bunyan, with tissue guard, is very fine. The facing color ill.: "Christian In View Of The Cross" has some chipping at margin edges but is still suitable for framing. All the other engravings are completely unblemished. Fine paper is strong but foxed; closed tear in margin of p. 57/58; crease in margin of p. 239. This beautiful volume deserves rebinding. The faded and soiled boards, originally light blue are much bumped and scuffed and there is abrasion at crown and foot of spine. 4to.
