The paintings are in color. In a wrap-around with the title and the names of the author and artist. The edition originally had 239 copies; this copy is marked in pencil "HC.". Hardcover. Condition: Fine. No Jacket. Measuring 10 ½ in. x 12 ¾ in. The covers are two pieces of textured cardboard, with the title on the front panel made of cut-out letters. Bound with two black cords. On the inside of the front cover Jani has written in her own hand an essay with biographical material including her developments as an artist; the essay is in French. Between the covers are six cardboard and paper panels, each of which contains an original colored painting based on Oriental designs. The essay is signed; and Jani's signature appears twice on the inside of the rear panel, with the following words written at the top and at the bottom: "Recueil Original Fait a Saint-Paul JANI. 2000." This copy includes a folded Gallery Notice of Jani's exhibition of similar paintings at Galerie Moscato in July 1999. The Gallery Notice includes 4 short paragraphs praising Jani's work. Also included with this copy are three short letters about Jani's work, including one from James Baldwin dated 1978, and two others dated 1990. The letters are typed, unsigned copies.
