Ads on e.ps. Orig. dark green pebble-grained cloth, blocked in blind, spine lettered in gilt; one gathering sl. proud, but overall a v.g. copy. William Plunket, 1764-1854, was a politician and member of the Irish Bar. He rose to prominence in 1803, as the prosecuting counsel in the celebrated trial of Irish Radical Robert Emmet; Plunket's closing statement is reproduced in this volume, pp85-96. He served as Ireland's Solicitor-General from 1803-1805, and became Lord Chancellor of Ireland in 1830.
