SECOND STAGE LENSMEN in Astounding SCIENCE FICTION from November 1941 to February, 1942, first edition, four volumes complete, Street & Smith, first edition, some light wear to the spines of the first 2 volumes, (the November 1941 issue with a store stamp on the front cover and a half inch square chip missing from the lower left corner of the front cover); the 1942 issues, both with the same store stamp on the front covers, somewhat more spine wear then the earlier 2 issues and some soiling to the rear covers. All in all, good to very good copies. The true first appearance in print of this novel. Also contains original contributions by Eric Frank Russell (SEAT OF OBLIVION & MECHANISTRIA), L. Ron Hubbard (THE INVADERS & THE REBELS), John W. Campbell, C. L. Set of all 39 issues of Unknown/Unknown Worlds professionally bound in 9 volumes, with gilt titles on the spine showing the title and issues contained in that volume. Bound in light blue and white patterned cloth. The bindings are in fine condition with slight over all wear. The magazines are in very good condition with moderate over all wear, the pages are light tan and some pages are somewhat brittle at the edges. The volume covering 12/40 - 8/41 has a detached section of pages (50). The volume covering 7/40 - 11/40 has chips missing from the upper right corner of several pages, doesn't affect the text.Includes all covers and ads. Includes Vol. 1, No. 1, March 1939 through Vol. 7, No. 3, October 1943. Unknown is considered by many to be the best fantasy magazine published and a highlight of the late pulp magazines. Book.
