Rub wear and bumping to the corners, quite heavy at the spine ends. Spine faded and has several tiny splits. Soiled area on lower board, and soome rubbing and scratching to both boards. Previous owner's name on title page and ownership block on rear endpaper. Also a lipstick mark on the rear free endpaper. Inside pages are clean and unmarked but have age toned. First Whitman editions from 1940 (all six with 533 printed at top left of front board) . Light edgewear to boards. Interiors have lightly tanned pages, as per usual with Whitman books, but are otherwise crisp and clean, with bright colors to Lang Campbell's charming pictures. Two of the books have faded inked gift inscriptions on title page (both dated 1944) . Bindings are tight on all but one, which is only very slightly wobbly.
