First edition. Octavo. The author's first novel, a 254-page satire on the modern art world. One of 500 numbered copies signed by the author on the title-page and by Damien Hirst on the rear panel of the dustwrapper which he designed. It seems as if all of the 500 copies bypassed normal distribution and found their way straight into the sweaty clutches of the rare book trade, a trajectory which could well count as a Hirstian concept in itself.Fine in fine dustwrapper.

Hardcover. Condition: As New. Dust Jacket Condition: As New. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. Signed. 254 pages. Published in 2000. The author's breakthrough debut novel. Landmark collaborative effort between Danny Moynihan and Damien Hirst. Now considered a contemporary art and literary classic. Limited Edition of 500 numbered and signed copies. Precedes and should not be confused with the regular trade edition. Published as a hardcover original in the United Kingdom only. There is NO American Edition. The Limited Edition is now rare. One of the most stunningly beautiful books ever published: Regular-sized volume format. Red cloth boards with gilt titles on spine, as issued. Text by Danny Moynihan. Original art by Damien Hirst. Hirst's art is in the form of the wraparound DJ cover, a hectic collage that consists of and alludes to the art of various contemporary artists. He gives credit to all of them: Sarah Lucas, Marc Quinn, Jeff Koons, Michael Joo, Matthew Collishaw, and himself. With Damien Hirst's supervision, one of his most fully realized (and financially accessible) creations underwent two further transformations: The photograph of Hirst's original art was taken by Mike Parsons while the subsequent digital manipulation was done by Steve Warner. Both the title and the art are an unmistakable homage to Piet Mondrian's "Broadway Boogie-Woogie". Red satin ribbon marker. In pictorial DJ with titles on the cover and spine, as issued. Presents Danny Moynihan's and Damien Hirst's "Boogie-Woogie". The book-as-beautiful object. The main attraction of the Limited Edition is Damien Hirst's DJ art. Discovered by Charles Saatchi (who bought his entire debut exhibition), Damien Hirst is not only the contemporary British art world's belated response to Andy Warhol, he is our Warhol, the most famous (and most expensive) artist of our time. Moynihan holds his own: "Sharp and wickedly sexy, 'Boogie-Woogie' is the look at the contemporary art world we've all been waiting for. It will be required reading in twenty years. In the meantime, read it and laugh. Satire doesn't come any more brilliant than this" (Cressida Connolly). No, it doesn't, and the duo deserves our lasting gratitude for bursting the bubble of the New York art scene's powers-that-be. An absolute "must-have" title for Damien Hirst and Danny Moynihan collectors. This is a copy of the Signed Limited Edition of 500 numbered and signed copies, indicated/numbered as such on the Front Limitation Page. It is very prominently and beautifully numbered and signed in black ink-pen by Danny Moynihan. The "Limited Edition" Duck Seal is stamped directly on the page itself, not a tipped-in page. In addition, the Limited Edition is spectacularly signed in black ink-pen on the DJ itself by Damien Hirst, thereby turning it into an original art piece. This title is a contemporary Artist Book classic. This is one of few copies of the Signed Limited Edition still available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. A rare signed copy thus. Two of the most brilliant artists of our time. A fine collectible copy. ISBN 0715630210. Signed by Author.

First edition, signed limited issue, number 74 of 500 copies signed by the author on the title page and by Hirst on the rear panel of the dust jacket. Boogie-Woogie was based on Moynihan's experiences of working in the contemporary art world, where he met Hirst, who said of the book: "Art is about life; the art world is about money. Boogie-Woogie is where the two collide" (quoted in Federico). It was made into a film of the same name in 2009, with screenplay by Moynihan. It was directed by Duncan Ward and starred, among others, Gillian Anderson, Alan Cumming, Heather Graham, and Christopher Lee. Cherie Federico, "When Art Takes on a Life of Its Own", Aesthetica, available online. Octavo. Original red cloth, spine lettered in gilt, yellow endpapers, red silk bookmarker. With dust jacket by Damien Hirst. A fine copy in like jacket.
First Edition, limited issue; one of 500 numbered copies, specially bound and signed by the author and Hirst who designed the dust jacket; 8vo; patterned endpapers; publisher's red cloth, with the laminate dust-jacket designed by Damien Hirst, a fine copy. A literary assessment of the New York art scene of the 1990s. The trade issue was markedly less well produced than this special edition.
