Collection of 14 vintage black-and-white still photographs from the US release of the 1963 UK film. A exemplary film of pre-"Swinging London," about a group of girls at an all-girls boarding school who wear a small yellow teddy bear on their lapels to show they have lost their virginity. Released in the US as "Gutter Girls" (1964) by Topaz Film Corp., the company responsible for the distribution of Terence Young's 1960 crime drama, "Too Hot to Handle" (with Jayne Mansfield). Originally released in the UK ("The Yellow Teddybears,"1963) after censorship in the country began to dissipate, the film was instantly packaged at the time as a sexy exploitation film, but it actually served as a serious message to young women about premarital sex. Set in England. 8 x 10 inches. One still with faint soil, else Near Fine.

Manuscript / Paper Collectible
Final draft script for the 1963 film, seen here under both the final title and the working title "The Yellow Golliwog." Director Robert Hartford-Davis' working copy, with his manuscript ink and penciled annotations, deletions, and drawings throughout. Call sheet bound behind the back wrapper, dated Friday, 5th April, 1963. A group of English school girls begin wearing yellow teddy bear pins on their uniform to signify that they have lost their virginity. One student becomes pregnant. Though instantly packaged at the time as a sexploitation film, "The Yellow Teddybears" is very much a pre-Swinging London message picture. Set in England, shot on location in London and Surrey, England. Red untitled wrappers with a die-cut window in the British style. Title page present, dated February 1963, noted as Final, with credits for screenwriters Donald and Derek Ford. 104 leaves, with last page of text numbered 85. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only, with pink and goldenrod revision pages throughout. Pages Very Good plus, wrapper Very Good plus, bound in a custom tall, green, titled spring-back binder.
