Illustrated guestbook of Hugo Graetz, the art dealer and manager of the Novembergruppe, the collective of German Expressionist artists. With 17 artworks by artists related to the November Group, dated in the early 1920s. Contains: Two drawings by the Czech Expressionist painter Friedrich Feigl (BedĹ ich; 1884-1965). An ink drawing by Jakob Steinhardt (1887-1968), the German-born Israeli painter, member of the Berlin Secession, founder of the Pathetiker Group and later member of the Bezalel school group. Three images by Willy Robert Huth (1890-1977) and two together with his wife Martel Schwichtenberg (1896-1945). Huth was a founding member of the "Jung-Erfurt" artist group, member of the Berlin Secession and the Deutscher Künstlerbund. Schwichtenberg was a member of the Deutschen Werkbund and the Novembergruppe. Besides the two collective graphics, she contributed with a pencil drawing to the guestbook. A portrait of the host while plays the cello by Wilhelm Schmid (1892-1971) the founding member of the November Group. A gouache by Otto Beyer (1885-1962) member of the Berlin Secession. A signed crayon drawing and an unsigned painting by Franz Winninger (1893-1960) Four works by unidentified artists. The handwritten, friendly greetings are dated between 1955 and 1965, when the Greatz family was already in Israel, and written in German, Hebrew, and English. The Novembergruppe was formed in 1918 by German Expressionist artists led by Max Pechstein and César Klein. Hugo Graetz, the art dealer, and gallery owner became Novembergruppe's managing director in 1919 and worked in this position until Hitler came to power in 1933 when he emigrated to Palestine with his wife Trude. Greatz gave up his former career in the art business, settled down in Safed, became a meteorologist and worked as the weatherman of Mount Canaan, where he lived the rest of his life. .
