1959. (Folio) Very good in good to very good dust jacket. 267pp. Photographs. The dust jacket is chipped, worn along all edges, and has closed tears. "During the last war the German authorities issued orders forbidding the photographing of executions, of the questioning of arrested persons, of round-ups and concentration camps. Depsite this, quite a number of photographs remained from that period. Who made these photographs? The Germans took pictures, in many cases the hangmen themselves, for their own collections. But Poles too - camp inmates - made snapshots, at the risk of their lives, as did accidental witnesses of Nazi crimes. The carefully hidden photographs of partisan units provide a picture of our fight for liberation. This album contains close to 300 documentary photographs depicting the sufferings and struggle of the Polish people in the years 1939-1945". Time Period 1939-1945. Published for Historical Section of the League of Fighters for Freedom and Democracy. Text in English, French, and Polish. Locale: Germany; Poland. (Holocaust, Concentration Camps, Holocaust, Nazi Party, Photography).

"World wide repercussions evoked by the album, 'We Have Not Forgotten,' have induced the publsihers to issue a second edition of this volume on Poland's martyrology under Nazi occupation. From letters sent to us from various countries, both by individuals as well as by a good many different political and social organizations, and in the light of recent events, it has become obvious to us that there is a need for a wide dissemination of the truth about Nazi barbarity in Poland" - from the Introduction to the Second Edition.
