Signed presentation from Leueen MacGrath on the title page to Victor Ross (1920- 2021) CEO of Readers Digest and a distinguished book collector, "Dear Victor, Alas! the only signature available is mine but it comes with much love, Leueen October 1st 1981." George Kaufman had died in 1961. Slight wear and rubbing at spine, otherwise very good. Faint note on cover, possibly by publisher, appears to say 'Manuscript copy, not for sale'. Price crossed out. Rare original Silk Stockings shooting script with music and lyrics by Cole Porter. Quarto, original black Hart Stenographic Bureau leatherette wrappers bound and bradded. In near fine condition. Annotations throughout. Accompanied by the vocal part of Ninotchka which is in fine condition. Loosely based on the Melchior Lengyel story 'Ninotchka', Silk Stockings premiered on Broadway in 1955 and was the final musical that Cole Porter wrote for the stage. The production opened Broadway on February 24, 1955 at the Imperial Theatre, and closed on April 14, 1956 after 478 performances.
