First Edition
Stiff Glossy Wrappers. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. 8vo. Pp. [10], 1-84. Preface by David Henderson. Cover designed by Lillian Kiyomi Murphy. Frontis. by Caroline R. Carter. Rear cover photo of the author by John Dedrick. Bound in glossy stiff wraps that shows edge-wear and scuffs. In his preface poet David Henderson refers to Gayton as not just a California poet, but a La Jolla poet. We would prefer to think of Gayton as a West Coast poet, reflecting not just SoCal, but his upbringing in Seattle, where he's the progeny of an illustrious pioneer family. A lawyer, Gayton studied at the University of Washington; his literary direction was influenced by Nelson Bentley.
