In-4, non paginé, demi-maroquin à coins brun de Canape, filets à froid sur les plats, dos à nerfs orné de caissons dorés, tête dorée sur témoins, couverture conservée (épidermures, légère insolation du dos). Jolie édition bilingue allemand et français du poème de Goethe (nouvelle traduction de Catulle Mendès) qui fut mis en musique par Franz Schubert en 1815. Le texte imprimé et la partition sont ornés à la façon des manuscrits médiévaux et illustrés de 13 grandes compositions en couleurs hors texte de Bellery-Desfontaines gravées par Ernest Florian. In-4, non paginé [52]p. Edition originale de la traduction de Catulle Mendès, tirage unique à 214 exemplaires, celui-ci n°190/200 vélin à la cuve des papeteries du marais. Edition décorée de treize compositions en couleur d'Henri Bellery-Desfontaines, gravées par Ernest Florian (le vient de paraître, qui en reproduit 2, en annonce 17 !). Encadrement décoré, titres, lettres, portées à l'encre rouge. Tous ces détails font de cet ouvrage un magnifique illustré. Le prospectus Vient de paraître est relié après la première couverture. Le poème Erlkönig, écrit en 1782, fut mis de nombreuses fois en musique et la version de Schubert est la plus connu. Elle fut composée en 1813. Le texte fut quant à lui traduit par Charles Nodier, Jacques Porchat et donc ici Catulle Mendès. Reliure signée G Hermand (inconnu à Fléty), bradel plein veau marbré, dos lisse, décor doré et à froid sur les plats, roulette en bordure des contreplats, tête dorée, couvertures et dos conservés. Frottis aux coins, dos, mors. Petite tache sur 2 feuillets. Superbe ouvrage, peu commun.

Très belle édition du célèbre poème de Goethe, illustrée de bois gravés en couleurs et tirée à 214 exemplaires numérotés : un des 200 sur vélin du Marais (n° 106). Exemplaire superbement établi par Henri Émile Blanchetière, relieur d'art parisien (1881-1933). L'ouvrage est orné du double portrait de Goethe et de Schubert, reproduit deux fois, dont une sur la couverture, de 6 compositions à pleine page, de 2 bandeaux, d'encadrements et d'ornements typographiques médiévalisants : l'ensemble a été gravé par Ernest Florian, d'après Henri Bellery-Desfontaines. Dans la première partie, le poème, en lettres gothiques, est reproduit en langue originale, avec la traduction française de Catulle-Mendès en regard; la seconde partie contient la partition de Schubert. En fin de volume, 4 feuillets constituent le prospectus de parution de l'ouvrage, reproduisant les 4 premières pages du poème, le double portrait et l'une des grandes compositions.
