Paper. Condition: Good ++. Colour Plates (illustrator). First Edition. SUBTITLED: ` Paintings 1964 - 1982 Peintures'. Dorothy Knowles was born in 1927 in Unity, Saskatchewan. She married fellow Saskatchewan painter William Perhudoff, in Paris France in 1953. Three children changed the way she expressed her artistic talents. She painted with Reta Cowley and Alice Collins. These 35 pages look at her career and visual approach. Notes at back about the relationship between artist(s) and gallery. Cond : Paper wrapper is mauve, lettering is rosy purple. Cover graphic is an `untitled' painting from her post 1972 period. Heavy spine wear (and small hinge split) at top. Binding has come unglued and been repaired. No names, marks nor tears. Nasty bump and crease on back cover. Colours bright. Minimal soiling. VG reference !! Quote (p. 04) : " The Greenberg workshop of 1962 has since become controversial. But for Knowles, as for many of the painters who attended it was a liberating influence. The liberation didn't come from Greenberg's giving directions, at least not specific ones. For example, . ."
