In original untouched condition with the ticket of Victorian binders Westleys & Clark on the rear paste down. End papers secure with a small bookseller ticket on front pastedown, previous owner s inscription on front free sheet. Pages clear of foxing or staining and in an excellent condition. Robert Horne commissioned leading poets to translate Chaucer, including the desperately ill Elizabeth Barret, later to marry Robert Browning, Wordsworth contributed three of his poems and stanzas from Troilus and Cressida . A VG++ copy with spine slightly faded, spine ends pushed, top edge a little dusty, a tiny bump to the bottom left-hand corner of the rear board, the merest touch of rubbing to the spine edges.
