LIMITED EDITION #107 of 300; SIGNED by the artist Glen Loates and also SIGNED by author Paul Duval; leather bound; light brown full calf binding with 5 raised bands; 300 pages; top and bottom edges gilt; publisher's speckling on fore edges; lettering in gilt on spine and on front cover, also with gilt design; marbled end papers; all colour plates and black and white plates are present in excellent condition; also included is a signed full colour limited lithograph of a Bison SIGNED by Loates and with a matching limited number (107/300); the lithograph is housed in a fine separate linen portfolio with matching marbled end papers and lettering in gilt; both book and portfolio fit into a matching linen slip case also with matching marbled interior and with lettering in gilt; also included is a custom built mahogany wooden case (with a brass lock and key) to house the slip case and books; lettering is engraved on the wooden case front; all will be delivered to a buyer in the original Cerebrus shipping case; the book itself is a unique work; the 280M stock of Cerebrus Parchment is a 100% rag content acid free sheet designed to ensure long life with none of the visible effects of aging; each volume was hand bound with fine rope stitching; all 16 signatures were hand gathered, cross stitched and taped with linen; each volume required a total of 16 days to bind; this limited edition also revived the decorated initial letter and the decoration utilized was of a woodcut style of drawing based on the work of William Morris; all copper plates and trial provings were destroyed in the presence of the artist and author to safeguard the limited nature of the edition; the book and wood casing is heavy (36.5 pounds or 16.56 kilos) and may require additional shipping charges depending on destination. The artist applied a sequence of colours which added minutedetails to highlight the grandeur and beauty of the Bison. In a whitelinen portfolio, gilt titles on the upper cover, in mylar sleeve, withfold over titles flaps, and the same marbled endpapers, Signed on thesheet by the artist. No Artist's proofs, Copper Plates Destroyed. Theproofs, trial proofs, copper plates, and supportive materials for thebook, were destroyed in the presence of both the artist and the authorto safeguard the intrigriy of the limitation. - bound in full tan calf,raised bands, gilt block titles and decorations in the panels, gilt titleon the upper cover, matched marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, eachvolume took sixteen days to bind. - in a hinged clam shell presentationcherry wood box, brass hinges, bevelled edges with the title carved inblack stamped relief on the upper cover, the book and presentation aredesigned in the style of the Private Press Movement of a century ago.
