A complete run of this scarce and important '60s Canadian mimeo poetry mag -- 45 issues (1961-1969) Condition varies: #1 is somewhat dogeared, front and back pages yellowed, with note scrawled on front page; #2-6, 8, 12-14, 16-18, 26, 29, 38, 41-[45] are umarked and fine or close to fine; #19-20,22, 24 are good (only) with addresses and canceled stamps; #25 is very good with torn corner; #7, 9-11,15, 21, 23, 27-28, 30-37, 39-40 are very good/near fine with addresses and stamps. Mimeos, stapled at top left corner. Issues #1-8, 13-40 are 8.5 x 14 inches; #9-12, 40-[45]' are 8.5 x 11. The final two issues, the 44th & 45th, lack numbers, are instead designated 'D' and 'E'. 23 issues are unmarked and are not addressed/stamped; 22 have hand-written addresses, some with canceled stamps: #9, 11, 21 & 23 to Fred Douglas; #10 to Lionel Kearns; #28 to Randy Enamoto; #15 to Chris [surname illegible]; #19, 20, 24 to Margaret Zickrick; #33 to Robert Hogg; #7, 27, 30-32. 34-37, 39-40 to Gladys Hindmarch (aka 'Mrs. Bob Hindmarch' aka 'Gladys Andstein'). Issues #1-19 were edited by Frank Davey, Jamie Reid, George Bowering, Fred Wah and David Dawson. TISH was distributed by mailing list and was modeled on DiPrima & Jones/Baraka's 'Floating Bear'. in fact FB reportedly shared their mailing list with TISH. Each of the first 19 issues had a print run of 400 copies, according to managing editor Frank Davey. "[P]robably the most influential literary magazine ever produced in Canada" -- Doug aka George Fetherling (2001 in The Georgia Straight).
