Book First Edition
Trade Paperback. Condition: Fine. Lasky, David - Art Direction (illustrator). First Edition Assumed. 125 Pages. First Fantagraphics Books Edition March 1997. In the seventies Crumb became involved in intensive writer-artist collaboration with Harvey Pekar, illustrating short stories for Pekar's self-published American Splendor comic book. With the advent of underground comics, Pekar saw the potential in the medium for highly personal autobiographical story telling, and figured he could write stories about his own life that would be at least readable, if not better than, most of the wacky, spaded out, meaningless scrawls then issuing in profusion from the underground publishing companies. Harvey became a force to contend with in those years.
