The author of these 118 pages (published posthumously) was an early graduate of the architecture program at UBC. He compiled this work from internal government documents.the work contains many b/w photographs as well as architectural (and grounds layout) drawings. the history begins about 1846, and concludes about 1980. LEARN more about : terrazzo floors, motion picture machine, Constance Blythe Copeman-Pearkes, Premier Walkem, north camp and a coal-stoker furnace. Cond : Boards are navy blue with silver gilt lettering - spine only. End-papers are white. Dust jacket (now in mylar) is white. Front photograph of ballroom has been hand-tinted. Photo seems to date from c.1910. Volume is tight, bright and clean - in ALL repects. No names, no tears. Decidedly giftable ! ! Collectible ! ! Quote (p. 100) : " The war had come to an end but its impact upon the life in British Columbia remained. New ideas and new influences were at work and life moved at a new tempo - all of which, in a variety of ways, was reflected in Government House.
