Charles Henri Ford's first volume of poetry, with a frontispiece and jacket by Tchelitchew. Charles Henri Ford (1908-2002) was closely linked with the Paris scene and Surrealism. A collection of sonnets in the present volume are dedicated to Vicomtesse de Noailles, Parker Tyler, Djuna Barna and Pavel Tchelitchew. Tchelitchew was Ford's long-term partner and provides the detailed frontispiece to the poems. The Europa edition is the first issue of the book, with the plates from this edition being reused for the American edition published later in the year by New Directions. Printed by The Temple Press.
