Castleman about Sam Bass (1851-1878), a Texas outlaw, train robber, and gang leader. After multiple attempts at securing a long-term career, Bass began robbing stagecoaches and trains with his gang. However, news of their notoriety spread, and they became the object of a manhunt by the Texas Rangers and other law enforcement agents. After months of evading capture, Bass eventually succumbed to fatal gunshot wounds following a shootout with law enforcement officers near Round Rock, Texas.
