First edition hard back binding in publisher's original pale blue cloth covers, navy title and author lettering to the spine and to the front cover. Thick 8vo. 7½'' x 5¼''. Contains [xvi] 357 (+ 3 page publisher's catalogue) printed pages of text with lovely monochrome illustrations throughout. A tale of the Seafaring Women of New England, the story, set in the mid nineteenth century, deals with the wife of a New England sea captain who accompanies her husband on his voyages. Small ink name to the top of the front free end paper 'Wallace'. Very Good condition book in scarce Very Good condition dust wrapper with slight age tanning of the cream paper down the spine, priced 7/6.
