  • Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Original publisher's off-white paper wrappers. An original life insurance policy printed in black, red, and green ink on off-white paper. Green decorative illustrations, including an illustration of the State Capitol on front header, complete. Gilt seal of the State of California Insurance Commission tipped in on front. The policy was registered on November 29, 1917. 12 1/2" x 19 1/2." Six pages, complete. A few horizontal and vertical fold lines, perhaps original. Policy has light age toning, slight wrinkling, and a few bumps along the edges. A Very Good copy. An original life insurance policy issued under the California State Life Insurance Company to Mary Ellen Martin, a woman who lived in San Jose, Santa Clara County, California. The policy will pay $2500.00 to the beneficiaries of Martin. The premium is listed as $172.73. The California State Life Insurance Company was located in Sacramento. Printed on Pages 3 and 4 are nineteen coupons that the insured (Mary Ellen Martin) may request to be converted into "Paid-Up Life Additions." Also included is a tipped-in Supplemental Agreement about military and naval service and what appears to be a photocopy of another form in back. There are three signatures in black ink, two from the insurance company's secretary and one from the insurance commissioner of the State of California Insurance Department.
