Several minor bumps to extremities of volume, with light to medium wear to several places of cloth. Text clean and binding sound. Mild tanning to some pages. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 8vo. A BEAUTIFUL 1st Edition of this scarce title featuring the RARE occurrence of including BOTH dust jackets. "As you may have noticed, there are two jackets on this book; one plain and one designed by Lewis F. White, one with a portrait of the subject. This portrait, which originally appeared on the jacket of the Dutch edition, was hated so much that the publishers were obliged to produce a new jacket. We couldn't resist giving it another chance here, but, as you see, we are prepared. Throw away whichever jacket you dislike. (The painting is "Satan Self-Bestialized" by C. Van Roemburg" - rear jacket flap. Bruno de Jesus-Marie was a pioneer in the field of Religious Psychology, was ordained in 1924 and served as the editor of "?tudes Carm?litaines" from 1930 until his death in 1962. xxv, 506pp. Green cloth with silver-foil titling to spine. Square tight binding. Clean interior. Very light sporadic foxing to end papers and text block edge. The 1st State dust jacket, with the portrait of Satan, has mild rubbing and edge wear, including a short closed separation at the lower fold of the front flap. The 2nd state dust jacket, plain, is in a similar condition, though contains a longer separation along the same jacket fold. The two jackets are housed in one archival mylar sleeve for protection. A superior edition in an exceedingly rare state.
