Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. Brown cloth. Lacking the dust jacket. 428pp. English and Foreign Index. All extremities worn. Each "book" begins with an engaging and informative introduction to the country's culinary style and culture, this is followed by menu options and sections of recipes from appetizers to wines that read like a travel log. I am particularly nostalgic of Basque food because my first dinner date with my husband was at a tiny family style restaurant in downtown Fresno, Ca. The menu was short and the food wonderful. Here in The European Cookbook, nestled between Spain and Portugal is a wonderful chapter "The Basque Kitchen". Each recipe is narrated in a story like way that leads you often into the next recipe and so on. If you enjoy cooking international dishes or reading cook books, you will not be disappointed. ; 8vo.
