Book is from The Foulis Books series, and is "Rendered from the old French". Dark and light blue boards, front has illustration of knight and woman on horseback, 79 numbered, deckled pages. Spine faded and smudged, lightly bumped on ends of spine, corners rubbed and bowed. Pages darkened, ffep brittle and small piece missing on fore edge, else pages spotless and binding tight. Tipped-in illustrations exquisite and colours bright. Overall, very good plus. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Marjorie Nash (illustrator). A VERY GOOD copy, with "Reprinted 1920" on copyright page and same date on title page. Author translated this anonymous medieval French prose about 1908. This issue is illustrated with eight (8) tipped in color plates, as well as many b/w line drawings. Fore-edge has lovely deckling, with the pages holding the color plates being a tad larger. A prev. owners book plate on inside front cover; blank front free end-paper has a 1/2" chip to tissue like paper. Very mild scattered foxing to a few pages, no other markings. NO dust jacket. Blue spine is sunned. Still a very lovely copy of a hard to find title. 4" wide x 6-1/2" tall. 80 pages + 3 pages of ads at rear. Protected in a mylar slip.
