Very good book in bevelled edge green buckram covers with bright gilt titles to spine front; decorated with floral vignettes and decorative border band with pattern of divided circles in gilt and maroon. Internally very good; inscription to half title page; profusely illustrated with engraved sketches of various parts of Britain, the first four sections being on Windsor, Eton, North Wales and Warwick and Stratford; title page in red and black; binding tight; no foxing; black end papers; all edges gilt; xii + 288 pp + 8pp adverts. No date c 1894. A most attractive copy especially with regard to its age. Photographs available on request.

Illustrated by many eminent artists of the time, including: W. H. J. Boot, T. L. Rowbotham, P. Skelton, Harry Fenn, T. Green, and more. With text by T. G. Bonney, Oscar Browning, H. H. S. Pearse, W. Senior, and Jas. Grant. In the original green pictorial cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the boards. A small split to the cloth to the tail of the front joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Light age toning to the endpapers. School prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Very Good. book.
