First Edition
First edition, first printing Mimeographed, one of 300 copies. Large stapled wraps with slight scuff to back side of book and very fine to behold. The poet's landmark book. The editor was Ron Padgett published by Lorenz and Ellen Gude at C Press. Berrigan has dedicated his masterpiece to Joe Brainard, as often the case, the back cover is missing usually because the text stock was too thick for the staples to adhere. Our copy came between two sheets of cardboard protected and wrapped in mylar. One of the seminal books of poetry published from the sixties.
Paperback. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. True first edition of Berrigan's first major book. Cover design by Joe Brainard. Edited by Ron Padgett. One of 300 copies. Side-stapled wrappers. Cover by Joe Brainard to whomThe Sonnetsis dedicated. Ron Padgett edited the work and typed the stencils. This is an unnumbered copy from an edition of 300 numbered and an unstated quantity of unnumbered copies. Final page is the colophon page. A beautiful copy, clean and sharp. Back cover shows a hint of toning. Very near fine.
