John Berlyne (illustrator). London: PS Publishing:, 2009. First edition, Hardcover, SIGNED limited, New in dust jacket, 569 pp. Cover artwork by: John Berlyne Near 600 pages and about four pounds worth of book here. Much more than a bibliography and nearly ten years in the making. Incredible. "As well as a complete, illustrated reference of every Tim Powers book published to date, Secret Histories offers an extraordinary insight into the stories behind the stories, collecting together in a single volume Powers material previously seen only in private collections. Here - in print for the very first time - you'll find poetry, drawings, research and plotting notes, novel outlines, early drafts, out-takes and an excerpt from the author's unpublished 1974 novel, To Serve in Hell. Supporting these riches are story notes and commentary by Powers himself and you'll also find articles and essays from collaborators, friends and renowned Powers aficionados including Dean Koontz, Jim Blaylock, China Miéville, Karen Joy Fowler, John Bierer, John Berlyne and William Ashless." Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Hardcover with dust jacket. Signed by Powers on the limitation page, but not numbered, so presumably an out-of-series copy (limitation page describes one of 1000 numbered copies). Unread, I think, but with corner bumps on the bottom outer corner of the rear boards, and some minor wrinkling to the jacket. Faulty glue on the boards has the jacket stuck to the inner rear board, but one might still detach it, with care, I suspect. BUt I'll leave that to the purchaser. Not a perfect copy, but still a desireable item. Signed by Author(s).
