Smithson, would have been 20 and only recently out of college at the time. Pan was a quarterly journal of poetry edited and published by Alan Brilliant, who later showed some of Smithson's work. with contributions here from Dick Fass, Frank J. Darlington, James Wright, Cecil Hemley, James May, Felix Stefanile, William Pillin, Harold Briggs, Michael Benedikt, Tim Reynolds, Harold Witt, Samuel Menashe, and Fred Cogswell. Rare in very good condition. From the home of a tobacco smoker, such that the wraps have been faintly toned and interior pages retain a subtle aroma of smoke. Shelfwear otherwise mild, with page interiors bright and crisp. Book in custom cut mylar dustjacket. This copy is unmarked save for the previous owner's inscription to the upper corner of masthead.
