This 96-page paperback (priced at 8/6) is a great way to time-travel back to London in the mid-60s, in the company of the always entertaining Searle. When this book was written, the Commonwealth Institute in Kensington was a relatively new attraction, there was only one Tate Gallery (on Millbank), and the GPO Tower (now the Telecom Tower) with its revolving restaurant wasn t due to open until 1966. There s advice on where to hire a pram (Harrods of course), get the London weather forecast (just dial WEA 2211), or enjoy an entertaining fry-up with the kids at one of the Lyons Corner Houses.
