Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. London. Ebury Press in association with George Rainbird. 1965. First Edition. Soft Covers with the charming illustrations of Searle. There are also numerous Searle drawings in different monotones Some toning to the text block and fore edge. Condition is very good plus. This 96-page paperback (priced at 8/6) is a great way to time-travel back to London in the mid-60s, in the company of the always entertaining Searle. When this book was written, the Commonwealth Institute in Kensington was a relatively new attraction, there was only one Tate Gallery (on Millbank), and the GPO Tower (now the Telecom Tower) with its revolving restaurant wasn t due to open until 1966. There s advice on where to hire a pram (Harrods of course), get the London weather forecast (just dial WEA 2211), or enjoy an entertaining fry-up with the kids at one of the Lyons Corner Houses.
