Uniformly bound in dark green cloth with gilt title lettering to spine and gilt seals to cover boards. Soundly bound and clean; top edges gilt and other edges untrimmed. Prior owner's period bookplates mounted to front pastedowns of both volumes. Gilt at spine just slightly dulled; cloth at crowns a little rubbed with some trace fray. Mild damp line to lower spine corner of the first and last few leaves of the second volume. Endpages joints a little tender. Illustrated with numerous plates on glossy stock, most with original plain paper gaurds laid in. Solid clean copy. VG-.
