Excellent book about famous New Zealand artist Esmond Atkinson, 96 pages heavily illustrated with 16 color plates and 15 half tones of botanical illustrations, striking detail and color. Book is Very Good some edge sunning and a corners bumped, clean green cloth with No previous owner bookplate or writing, Jacket is Very good, black paper with white titles chip to head of spine front top and bottom corners, shows nicely in new mylar sleeve. A Very Good and most presentable First Edition.
Soft cover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. THE COVER IS RUBBED AND FADED. THERE ARE CREASES TO BOTH SIDES. THE CORNERS AND EDGES ARE BUMPED. THE SPINE IS RUBBED AND SCUFFED ALONG THE EDGES. BOTH ENDS OF THE SPINE ARE SCUFFED. THERE IS A PENNED DEDICATION TO THE FRONT INSIDE COVER. THE BINDING IS TIGHT. PAGES GENERALLY APPEAR CLEAN AND CREASE FREE. ALL IN ALL A NICE EXAMPLE OF THIS BOOK.

Reprinted from Genetica VIII. Presentation copy from the authors, though not signed, "Professor F.E. Fritsch, with the authors compliments". A manuscript taxonomic change has also been added internally in the same hand. Felix Eugen Fritsch was a British biologist best known for his work on algae. With the later stamps of the botanist Eric Groves on both covers. [With a copy of G. Tuley's "Nothofagus in Britain", 1980, Forestry Commission, 26 pages.].
