The slipcase has minor shelf wear and sunning. Bound in original quarter grey cloth and blue boards with the spine stamped in blue and silver. Volume measures 10 3/8 inches high by 7 1/8 inches wide in a 10 3/4 inches high by 7 1/4 inches wide slipcase. The Heritage Club's SANDGLASS laid-in.

Illustrated with original wood engravings by Paul Landacre and signed by the artist on the colophon page. Slipcased. Issued in paper slipcase and slipcase is chipped and worn and split at the top edge. Bound in cloth boards with titles present to the spine and front board. Boards have light shelf-wear present to the extremities. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. This new collection gathers some of Bierce's finest stories, including the celebrated Civil War fictions 'An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge' and 'Chickamauga', his macabre masterpieces, and his tales of supernatural horror.
