Binding is tight. A Very Good copy. A beautiful book signed by Rockwell Kent (1882-1971), an American painter, printmaker, author, and illustrator. As noted in the title, this book features the writings and artwork of Rockwell Kent. The book begins with a collection of Kent's essays. The essay titles are "Of Aesthetics (1928)," "Foreword (1924)," "Personal (1928)," "Of Culture (1927)," "Introduction to 'Fifty Prints' (1927)," "Of Critics (1929)," "A Solicited Introduction for the Art Directors' Annual (1928)," "The Racket (1929)," "A Solicited Introduction to a Book on Advertising (1928)," "Free Art in an Iron Age (1927)," "Adam and Eve (1927)," "Our Museum (1928)," "The National Gallery of Contemporary Art (1926)," and "Apple Jack (1931)." The essays are followed by "A Check-List of the Wood-Engravings and Lithographs of Rockwell Kent," the latter of which also includes a list of books containing illustrations and articles by Kent. In terms of pure condition, the best copy we've seen of this early, partial catalog raisonné of Kent's work, and the only copy we've handled with the publisher's box. A stunning copy of a book typically found well-worn.
