Warren Singh-Bartlett was born in Pakistan, lived in India, Taiwan, Brazil and Japan and now calls Lebanon, the world's most unpredictable country, home.
A freelance writer, editor and film-maker who has been living and working in Beirut since 1998, he lives in an orange and blue rooftop apartment in a crowded part of the city from where he enjoys glimpses of the Mediterranean, Mount Lebanon's snowy peaks and expansive views into his neighbours' living, dining and bathrooms. 
Luckily, his terrace is heavily vegetated.
Writing on a diverse array of subjects from architecture, design and travel to conflict, social issues and development, he is the Middle East correspondent for Wallpaper Magazine and has contributed to other publications including Tank, American Express' Departures magazine, London's Financial Times, Germany's Handelsblatt, the New York Times and DestinAsian, a pan-Asian travel magazine.
Singh-Bartlett is the author of four guidebooks for the Wallpaper/Phaidon cityguide series: Beirut, Honolulu, Delhi and Dubai and is currently at work on a second non-fiction book about Lebanon.
