About the Author:

American citizen Elisabeth Booz grew up in England and Europe and received her Master's degree in Political Economy from the University of Geneva. She currently works for the National Geographic Book Division. Her other books include the Odyssey Guide to Tibet. Andrew Hempstead is an Australian who has traveled extensively. He is the author of three books on western Canada and has co-authored a book on Australia. He divides his time between Australia, Canada and spending as much time as possible in Alaska. Photographer Ben Simmons' interest in photography began at the age of 20 during military service. He is now a professional photographer and his work has appeared in numerous publications, including Time, Newsweek, National Geographic and the New York Times Based in Tokyo, he spends over six months of the year on location abroad.
