PRIYA NARAYANAN is an avid traveler, a voracious reader, a passionate designer, and a doting mother of two. While as a child, she loved to dream, she now has to make do with daydreaming over many cups of coffee and chocolate chip ice cream. She believes that there are stories lurking around every corner, waiting to be captured and revealed to the world. Although she has long been a writer of short stories and poetry, it was just recently that she took up the challenge of writing for children. Priya can be reached at priya.nm@gmail.com
"
Priya Narayanan narrates a wonderful story with vivid imagination." - Indian Moms Connect
What we liked:
- The story line that gives important lessons w/o being preachy
- Eye catching & appropriately placed illustrations by Suhita Mitra
- Minimal characters ensuring the story isn't too complicated
- Description of situations
- Glossary of Indian word meanings to appeal to a global audience
- The absolutely awesome ending
Certain aspects like Mitu faking a stomachache & going alone with Dhobi kaka did bother us. But hey, they're part of the story & weave in pretty well.
"Priya Narayanan's book was a refreshing journey back to childhood. Not only did I enjoy the imagery but also the style of the book. It does not talk down to the children but treats them as equal partners in this long journey called life." - Dr. Suguna Kannan, Academic Consultant
"Priya Narayanan's debut book is a visual treat for the kids with a simple story that takes the kids to the end of a lovely tale with great ease." - Kids Stop Press (kidsstoppress.com)
