The student movement reactivates when social and educational inequality increase. Half a century later, the causes that sparked the events of May of '68 are still present today. In the field of education, new reforms demonstrate a clear step back in equality of opportunity, in the accelerated path toward the comprehensive school, initiating a major reproduction throughout the culture. In the social field, we seem to be returning to a disastrous path of limited rights and freedoms. Given the distrust toward politicians and their parties, the formal mechanisms of the control of the government do not seem sufficient. On the other hand, the majority of critical intellectuals seem to be more focused on building their personal careers these days, perhaps because they have not recovered from the disillusionment they suffered at seeing the outcomes of the revolutions of the 20th century. However, as the function of the student rests primarily in thinking and questioning the problems that surround them, students carry a social responsibility to see the other and become the voice of those who have none. Does reinventing May of '68 simply imply recovering those signs of identity and setting off a movement that overcomes the obstacles of fragmentation and egoism? Or rather studying for a degree that offers wealth and success, just like the professor who works only to win prestige? Education is one of the few viable and available means of achieving a more just society. Hence its necessity.

Book Description Encuadernación de tapa blanda. Condition: Nuevo. Seller Inventory # DIS9788416032440
