Joe Weber was born on February 9, 1945 in Enid, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1970-1975. His first novel was published in 1989. He lives near Pensacola, Florida, with his wife of 23 years, and their dogs, Duke and Duchess.
Mr. Weber has a Master of Science Degree in Aviation Management. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot rating, and has over 10,500 hours of flight time in 43 different types of aircraft, ranging from aerobatic biplanes to four engine transports. He is a carrier-qualified fighter/attack trained pilot who graduated from advanced Naval jet pilot training in Kingsville, Texas, in 1972. After his release from active duty, Mr. Weber flew commercially until 1989.
He is the author of five novels with his sixth, Primary Target, scheduled for release from Berkley Publishing in December, 1999. Millions of Mr. Webers books are in print, and all of his books are available on audio cassette. Mr. Webers books have been translated into Chinese, Japanese, Hebrew, Polish, Russian and Italian for sales in foreign countries, and they have appeared on the bestseller lists of The New York Times, Publishers Weekly, The Associated Press, and The Chicago Tribune.
He is currently working on his seventh novel.
Months later, on a routine training flight, a B-2 Stealth bomber...is hijacked by a civilian weapons technician turned traitor. At gunpoint, the pilots are forced to fly to Cuba -- a flight that, due to the radar-resistant properties of the aircraft, is untraceable.
As the superpowers waltz arm-in-arm in a deadly dance of nuclear brinkmanship, only one man (Steve Wickham) can save the plane and its crew -- and avert a global confrontation. Joe Weber, author of last year's sleeper, "Defcon One, returns with another brisk thriller. A sweeping story old with ringing prose and peppered with nail-biting shoot-outs, escapes, and military maneuvers, this novel is as action-packed as a high-tech aerial dogfight. "Shadow Flight" is techno-thriller action at its very best! -- Rave Reviews, August 1991
