The story here is about how Eisenhower's book "Crusade in Europe" and the US Supreme Court Case involving this book have substantially changed and affected US Copyright Laws. The relevant decision by Justice Antonin Scalia is: Dastar Corp. v. Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp., 539 US 23 (2003). There is also a US Court of Appeals decision: Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. v. Entertainment Distributing, 429 F.3d 869 (9th Cir. 2005). Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower (born October 14, 1890, died March 28, 1969) was a five-star general in the United States Army and the 34th President of the United States, from 1953 until 1961. During World War II, he served as Supreme Commander of the Allied forces in Europe, with responsibility for planning and supervising the successful invasion of France and Germany in 1944–45, from the Western Front. In 1951, he became the first supreme commander of NATO.
