About the Author:
Geboren am 20.04.1848 in Breslau, der Vater war Fabrikant und Kaufmann. 1866 beginnt er sein Studium der Mathematik und Physik in Breslau und besteht 1873 das Staatsexamen. Zwei Jahre später promoviert er über ein Thema der Physik und geht 1876 als Gymnasiallehrer nach Gotha. 1884 erhielt er den Professorentitel. Laßwitz starb am 17.10.1910 in Gotha. Kurd Laßwitz gilt als Vater der deutschen Science-Fiction Romane. Seine Romane spiegeln die Nähe des Autors zu den Gedanken von Kant und Fechner wider.
