Book Description Flexible Black vinyl wraps. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Two parts complete in one volume of 780 pp. (including index.) 2001 Portuguese edition of a book originally published 1993. Book is in reasonably attractive black vinyl flexible pictorial wraps, B&W portrait of Dali with absurd mustache to front, lettered in gold gilt. Book appears very good but there is a closed four-inch tear to pp 697-698, repaired with Scotch tape, which affects the background fields of the ilustrations to both of these pages (section on 1981-1982), meaning the book cannot pass for new. Profusely illustrated, mostly in color. Taschen is a German firm, based in Koln (Cologne). This book appears to have been published by the firm's Paris office (credit for the conception going to co-author Gilles Neret, in Paris), though printed in Slovenia. However, translation is credited to Alice Milheiro, Lisboa, and in fact this edition is entirely in Portuguese. O texto e todo em Portugues. Most illustrations appear two and three to a page, meaning they have less impact than if they were all full-page, but obviously the decision was made to aim for a more comprehensive catalog. Also, a few of the iconic works (as Madona Cosmica, 1958) oddly appear in B&W, while most of the book is in color. Nonetheless, an impressive charting of the career. Includes a 2-page bibliografia. A NOTE TO OUR OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS: While we welcome offshore orders, heavy books present a special problem. We ship our books in boxes, and all international boxes of more than 4 lbs. must now travel by air, "Priority Mail." This book is thus likely to cost something on the order of $54 to ship overseas. Overseas buyers should not order this book or other heavy books unless they're willing to approve and pay the requisite "Priority" shipping. The price of this book has now been reduced from $32.
